Google Toolbar is an Internet browser toolbar only available for Internet Explorer and Firefox (up to version 4.0). Google toolbar resides above the browser's tab bar and provides a search box to carry out web searches. Users can log into their Gmail accounts and access their email, saved bookmarks, and web history. It has tools such as AutoLink, AutoFill, translation, spell checker common to all browsers, while pop-up blocker and word finder are restricted to Internet Explorer. Google toolbar is often distributed through product bundling with a primary download.
Google Toolbar for Opera? In case you would like to use Google Toolbar in your Opera web browser, I’d like to tell you that there isn’t any official one (and probably won’t ever be). However, there’s a solution and gabydewilde has something to offer. It’s a widget called “GoogleToolBar”. It’s not a real alternative to Google Toolbar, but author is working on new version (although the previous version was released on Jun 15, 2006) which will include better UI configuration, more publisher tools for blogger and more.
By using this widget you may add or remove any integrated buttons you want, even create custom ones as well as change icons size.
I am not a big fan of any web browsers toolbars and even couldn’t find a comfortable place to keep this widget. Maybe you’ll get luckier.
If the widget author will continue working on it, I believe that in the near future it might be a really useful one. So far, it still needs lots if improvements. Feel free to try it and see yourself.
